The French Post released on 18 June 2012, a stamp to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first european heart-lung transplant. The transplant was conducted by Professors Christian Cabrol et Iradj Gandjbakhch; the transplant was possible because of the discovery of cyclosporine, an efficient drug to prevent organ rejection. Today, such interventions are limited by the availability of willing donors.
