Turkey issued a souvenir sheet on 21 March 2013 to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day. The souvenir sheet contains 3 stamps, the 50 kurus stamp is illustrated with a impression of a chromosome and the classic double helical DNA, the 2.20 lira stamp also has the classic double helical DNA at the lower right corner. Down syndrome is also known as trisomy 21, as it is a genetic condition in which a person has 3 copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual 2. Scott 3335.
